Case Study: OneShared.World / IDEA School / A Children’s Call for Hope

Challenges

Support the mission of OneShared.World, a new, global interdependence movement. OneShared.World began during the early days of the pandemic, when hundreds of people from around the world came together to draft the Declaration of Interdependence.

Solution

OneShared.World: Build and deploy a multi-page website in less than one week, during the urgency and confusion of the first months of COVID-19, with global scalability, hardened security, livestream capabilities, and the flexibility to accommodate a rapidly growing global movement; develop branding and identity with appeal across diverse international cultures.

IDEA School (site no longer active): Support OneShared.World’s mission through conception and design of an auxiliary website that showcases educational toolkits to allow personal exploration and identify practical applications of interdependence.

“Children’s Call for Hope” campaign (no longer active): Create the Children’s Call for Hope campaign website and online galleries, within the IDEA School website, to give all children a voice to express hope in these troubled times, and then inspire the world with how children’s hopes transcend borders, perspectives, conflicts, and differences. Goal: build a global visual ‘chorus’ of children’s voices, all focused on building hope for their future, recognizing their common dreams, and inspiring change for the good of all children. Children around the world were asked to answer the question “Where do you find hope” as expressed through art: drawing, painting, poetry, song, video, etc.

Outcome

OneShared.World has grown into a broad and inclusive movement of people from 120 countries across the planet, initiated global campaigns around public health and vulnerable populations, produced educational toolkits, organized a global interdependence summit and other interactive/online/livestream events, and built an incredible youth-driven organizing team. Working with the OneShared.World predominantly youth-driven team, Daylight delivered on the solutions outlined above and continues to support the OneShared.World and IDEA School mission — from supporting production of events to social media campaigns, from organizational governance to coalition building. In spite of the pandemic’s associated school closures and other trials hindering outreach for the Children’s Call for Hope campaign, we were able to partner with other like-minded organizations and arts education groups globally to extend the campaign into a second year.
